I've got to write an essay on Foucault for a project and I need some information and your opinion
For those of you who don't know:
Michel Foucault wrote a book called 'The history of sexuality'. In this book he said:
In this volume he attacks the "repressive hypothesis", the widespread belief that we have "repressed" our natural sexual drives, particularly since the 19th century. He proposes that what is thought of as "repression" of sexuality actually constituted sexuality as a core feature of human identities, and produced a proliferation of discourse on the subject. If you'd like to help me, please tell me what you know about Foucault and perhaps your opinion on this theory, I'd love to hear them, although I'd appreciate it if you'd state whether your comment is a fact or your opinion.
