Based in NYC and just saw this great documentary on love and relationships. Follows 5 real stories (from a single gay dad to a teen couple about to graduate and a couple married 48 years). Makes you laugh, cry. Really taught me a lot about what love REALLY looks like. Was so refreshing. So I've kind of taken it upon myself to advocate for this beautiful film.
In New York for one more week, opening in LA - July 15 (also San Diego, Boston, Philly).
If you have a chance, check out the trailer and see the film! http://loveetcthemovie.com/trailer.php
I saw this movie in New York a few weeks ago too! It's a fantastic documentary that get away from what you typically see Hollywood romance flicks and shows what love is like in the REAL world regardless of age, ethnicity or sexual preference.
Each of the five couples in the film showed how different every relationship truly is. Issues like single-parenthood, religious and cultural expectations, age and sexuality were dealt with in a very hands-on style. Definitely a refreshing change!!
I haven't really explored gay documentaries but I heard that they can be moving or even better than commercial clips, well, almost anything opposite to commercialism is better. Haha! A link was sent to me like a year ago by a buddy of mine, I've checked out some of the Youtube vids but not the entire clip yet. Here is the link. http://www.bilerico.com/2008/05/10_gay_documentaries_everyone_should_see.php
