|Dear Queer Community,
Please take a moment to read this:
Hello! My name is John Serafica, and I'm a queer student filmmaker at San Francisco State. This year, I wrote and will be directing my undergrad thesis short film titled, “Nom de Plume.” It’s a queer romantic drama about a married woman in her late 60s, whose long-held secrets have alienated her from her husband and herself.
I’m using Kickstarter to fund this film, but it hasn’t really been getting the attention it needs. My producing team and I have re-strategized our campaign and are focusing on getting our support from the queer community!
Our goal for this project is to raise at least $4,500. Our current status: 7 days left, 40% funded. We are in need of your help to bring this story to life. If you are unable to contribute financially, please share our story on any social media site. Anything helps. Also, It’s important to note that we will not receive any donations if we do not reach our minimum goal (Kickstarter’s policy).
I encourage you all to click the link to the Kickstarter page below and see what my creative crew has in store. You’ll see a complete graphic breakdown of where your contributions will go. Also, check out those amazing rewards you can win for contributing!
Please, be a part of something special. You aren’t just supporting my thesis film, but supporting queer filmmaking in general. You’ll also be supporting women in film, particularly older queer women, whose stories deserve to be told!
If you got this far, thank you so much for reading. Let’s make a movie!
