It is a common misconception that same-sex couples are different than heterosexual couples, in psychological terms. Many anti-gay-marriage voters believe this, and it has been found to influence their voting actions. My research adds another drop in the bucket of research that supports the notion same-sex couples are very similar to heterosexual couples. It is a shared hope that this kind of research may sway some narrow minds.

My name is Megan Pendleton, and I am a graduate student earning my PsyD in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University. I am looking for members of the LGBT community to take my anonymous online survey so I can complete the research for my dissertation.

PURPOSE: My study attempts to measure the impacts of communication patterns on relationship satisfaction and compare those impacts across gay, lesbian, and heterosexual individuals.

PARTICIPANTS:Must be 18 years of age or older, and currently in a committed, monogamous relationship lasting at least 6 months.

DURATION: 10-15 minutes

INCENTIVE: At the end of the survey, you can enter your email address to be put into a drawing for a $50 Visa giftcard (identifying info kept separately from survey answers)

Thank you for your participation and contribution to resarch!
