I am a first year Counseling Psychology Ph.D. student at Loyola University Chicago. I am currently recruiting participants for a study examining sexual orientation identity and wellness among lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults, and would like to extend an invitation to anyone who meets the criteria. I am looking for participants who:
1. Are a US citizen, age 18 and up; and
2. Identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB)
·Note: You may prefer to use labels other than ‘lesbian, gay, and bisexual’ to describe your sexual orientation (e.g., ‘queer,’ ‘pansexual’). We use the term LGB in this survey as a convenience, and we ask for your understanding if the term does not completely capture your sexual identity.
If you agree to participate, you will be asked questions about your experiences as an LGB-identified person, recent depression and anxiety symptoms, and your general outlook on life. If you indicate you are presently involved in an intimate relationship, you will also be asked questions about your current relationship. You may choose not to answer some questions, and you may also choose to stop participating at any time once you have begun. Your responses will not be linked to identifying information such as your IP address. At the conclusion of the study, you will have the option of opting-in to a follow-up study that will be conducted twelve months after completing this study. If you opt-in to the follow-up study, your email address will be retained in a password-protected document so that you may be contacted in twelve months, at which point your email address will be deleted.
Completing this study and the follow-up study should take no more than 30 minutes each, and you will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 Amazon gift card for each study you complete.
