Hi everyone,

Recently, I have joined a research team here at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus, whose current focus is looking at the life experiences of lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals. As some of you may be aware, there are only a small number of studies that have examined the developmental stages of coming out as a sexual minority; even out of the few that there are, many are very outdated. Additionally, there has never been a systematic examination of the effects of coming out on one’s well being. We are currently working on such a study; our aim is to examine the effects of coming out on the individual – whether it is positive, negative, or has no effect. If any of you are interested in contributing to the study, all it requires is that you answer a brief questionnaire asking you about your views on coming out that only takes around 15 minutes to complete. The surveys are completely anonymous. In addition, if you do the survey, at the end of the study you have the opportunity to provide your email that will be entered into a raffle to win $150! (this contact information will be removed from your questionnaire data to ensure confidentiality). If you identify as being in the closet, follow this link to answer the questionnaire : If you identify as being out of the closet, follow this link to answer the questionnaire: If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to message lgbtutm@

Thanks so much everyone!
